  • Mini-humanoid robot with iPhone head

Got to love the innovators!  This hobbyist has created an application that uses the iPhone as a functioning robot brain.

Nicknamed "Robochan" it consists of a humanoid Kondo KHR-2HV kit with a iPhone brain that is attached to the body via a dock connector.  Robochan has a vararity of functions including change its facial expressions, dance with playing music, wake up alarm with body motion, interaction with its body and, teach and playback

  • PC-in-a-vase fabulous for hiding your under-powered media center

Made by ECS, this full Intel Atom 230 system, including NVIDA ION graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 2.5-inch HDD and a Blu-ray drive has been stuffed into what looks like a family heirloom. There's even room for a couple USB ports, Ethernet and HDMI plugs on the bottom, which keeps the main body uninterrupted other than the tray-loading drive.

  • 6-in-1 Solar Robot Kit

From a Red5, a UK based gadget shop is the 6-in-1 Solar Robot Kit.  This guy has 6 different ways to build it including, dog, boat, car, windmill and a moving or stationary plane.  With only 25 pieces and tool-less build, this is a great intro to solar power, though it may only qualify as a robot in the sense that it has automation.  But the best thing about this bad boy is if you like in Seattle, Portland or the UK, it can be powered with a 50 halogen bulb (or brighter).

    ExtremeTech's Case Mod Competition

For those of you who did not follow this intently last year, I hope we can look forward to more sick mods like, the Optimus Prime case, the Motorcycle case, the gerbil case and many more ridiculously AWESOME case mods.

The week one winner was announced on Monday, here is what he says:

It is a 100% custom case made entirely of Carbon Fiber. I chose to use carbon fiber because of its structural properties, its lightweight.

Having 8 sides allowed me to showcase a different part on each side of the case such as windowed hard drives, LED intake and exhaust fans, LCD panels, DVD drive, power buttons, and a hot swappable drive bay. It is water cooled and has a motorized panel that lifts out of the top to show LED status lights and a LCD temperature monitor.

  • More TMI via Twitter

It might be bad enough that you alway know when that guy in the cube next to you has had burritos for lunch, but if you just can't get enough of other people fartingmaybe you should also consider following the Tweeting Office Chair.  Not only can you get a blow by blow of the toots, he also provides a instrucatable so you can share your TMI with the interwebs too.

Aside form the fart factor, I would like to see some documentation as to what he is eating previous to the tweets, I do notice some are quite close to each other, maybe an hour or so after lunch?

  • Steampunk Treo [Slideshow]

Unfortunately he does not include a instructable for this steampunk Treo, but it is a beautiful fully functioning steampunk phone mod.  Below the watch is even a functional directional pad.  I have to say I would definitely rock this one

  • Power Glove 20th Anniversary Edition

OOoooo this takes the cake!  I have to say I was a fan of the power glove because it looked so AWESOME! Even though there was only 2 games it worked with, I still felt like a bad ass wearing it.  This indy game developer has taken the classic Power Glove and replaced the original ultrasonic sensors with an accelerometer, the microcontroller with an open-source Arduino, and the wired connection with Bluetooth.

    Wiimote with a vengeance!

He even goes so far as to provide the schematics and code, both can be downloaded from his website. Check out the vid on his blog at about 11 mins in to see it in action.
